About
Air New Zealand
During the 1980s and 1990s
Air New Zealand expanded its international
network, particularly to Asian cities like Taipei, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. It
now flies to Europe, USA, Asia, Pacific Islands and Australia.
Air New Zealand
History
In 1940, Tasman Empire Airways Limited started the first trans-Tasman
service. Seven years later, the New Zealand government-owned National Airways
Corporation (NAC) begins domestic operations in New Zealand and to the South
Pacific islands. In 1965, Tasman Empire Airways Limited was renamed
Air New Zealand, which was privatized in 1989.
