Air France destinations

The long-haul network includes more than 200 destinations in over 60 countries (including code-share operations). Almost all flights are non-stop: for example, among European carriers, only Air France offers daily non-stop flights to Rio de Janeiro. The medium-haul network consists of 110 routes serving 30 countries in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

French domestic network

The domestic network is very dense, consisting of about 40 destinations. Passengers may bypass Paris thanks to inter-regional routes linking regional destinations directly. Flights from Paris to regional destinations leave from both Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports. Paris-Charles de Gaulle is particularly suited for international connections while Paris-Orly, links regional destinations with Paris. The "La Navette" shuttle service operates from Paris-Orly airport to Bordeaux, Marseille, Nice and Toulouse.

Air France History

Air France was created by a merger of several French airline companies in 1933. Air France inaugurated Paris-New York service in 1945. In 1976 Air France initiated Concord flights between Paris and New York and Washington. Service ended in the spring of 2003. Air France acquired UTA and Air Inter in 1990.
